SciNote

Attributes
DescriptionSciNote is a world-class platform for researchers in academia and industry who need an electronic lab notebook, inventory management and project management capabilities. With SciNote, laboratories can create, store and share protocols and SOPs, various scientific methods, operating procedures, equipment instructions, safety guidelines, etc. in a structured and easy way. It is easy to upload, write, customise and review different versions of protocols rich in content such as text, images, tables, checklists, chemical drawings, code, keywords, comments, etc. To save time and improve traceability, labs use SciNote protocol templates or public protocols from protocols.io to perform repetitive experiments or ensure reproducibility of results, saving time. Lab members can link protocols to experimental data at any time to ensure traceability of data.

Provider's data safety and data security strategiesEncryption of data at rest: Server-side encryption uses one of the strongest block ciphers available 256-bit Advanced Encryption Standard Standard (AES-256). Encryption of data in transit: All data between clients and Sci-Note is also encrypted using the strong HTTPS protocol (TLS 1.2), RSA SSL certificate and strong 256-bit key. SciNote also communicates with external services via secure connections (SSL technologies): Heroku PostgreSQL database (SSL) and Amazon S3 (HTTPS).

Exit strategyUpon cancellation of the subscription, premium clients are offered a certain period of time to export their data, which includes the reports and export of all previously described. All premium customers receive a link with two directories. The first ('database') contains a database dump in SQL format that customers can import into the PostgreSQL database using the psql command. The second ('files') contains all the files in SciNote that should be in the file system. There is also a third file 'variables.env' which contains the necessary environment variables for setting up the SciNote instance (if required), and for correctly interpreting the folder structure files within SciNote that are on the file system.
Community"We've created a SciNote Community on LinkedIn, where our users can exchange ideas about using SciNote, share tips and learn from each other. Our Customer Success Team will keep you company and answer any of your questions."
