DescriptionLabCollector’s ELN Add-on is an electronic lab notebook designed to replace paper notebooks and securely digitize your experiments in a structured and collaborative way.
Fully integrated into LabCollector, the ELN allows you to centralize your protocols, notes, results, diagrams, and images in a flexible and customizable environment. Each experiment is recorded with its author, timestamps, and can be electronically signed to ensure data integrity. A full history of modifications is saved for complete traceability.
With its rich, intuitive editor, you can insert text, tables, files, images, and links to samples, equipment, inventory, or projects, making it easy to connect experimental data with other LabCollector modules. You can also create standardized protocol templates, reuse them, or share them with your team.
Compatible with regulated environments (GxP), the ELN supports change justification, electronic signatures, and page locking. It also offers fine-grained access control by user or group.

Provider's data safety and data security strategiesLabCollector’s ELN add-on is designed to secure experimental data and ensure full traceability. Every entry can be electronically signed by users or admins, providing proof of integrity and aligning with CFR 21 Part 11 and patent requirements. Modifications are tracked via a versioning system and audit trail, with users required to give a reason when editing or signing records. You can also create read-only or locked records to prevent further changes, ensuring a fixed version is maintained. Sensitive fields can be marked as encrypted or read-only, with values pushed from external sources only. For better data management, the ELN includes a time tracking tool, an activity log for the last changes, and full export options for oversight and team coordination. LabCollector supports record archiving and provides smart access control. Archived records are hidden from standard searches, uneditable, and traceable. Together, these features offer strong data protection and traceability across your entire lab system. LabCollector also includes SSO compatibility, daily backups, and ISO-compliant hosting in secure EU and US data centers.

Exit strategyLabCollector provides users with full ownership and control over their data. At any time, administrators can export records, logs, and files in common formats (CSV, XML, or PDF) directly from the system. Upon contract termination or at the client’s request, a complete data export can be generated and securely delivered, ensuring that all stored information remains accessible. Backups are retained for a limited time to facilitate safe migration before being permanently deleted. This guarantees that no data is locked within the platform, and clients can easily transition to other solutions without losing information. A full SQL export of the entire database is available at any time. Users can also activate a read-only vault (paid feature) to access and browse past experiments. Data is automatically deleted from the database 60 days after contract termination. All of these actions can be performed directly by the user through the interface.
